Game Development with Roblox
Course Description
One of the best ways to learn to program is learning to make games. In fact, one of the reasons so many people want to learn to code is so that they can develop games. But, with such a vast and diverse field like gaming, it can be very hard to figure out where to start, which is why we are offering this amazing course.

With its easy to read programming language (Lua), and its beginner friendly game engine, Roblox is one of the best ways to get involved in game development.

Course Details
This is a virtual 2 week course designed to give students an introduction to making games on Roblox.
​
Dates: June 3rd - June 7th, Monday - Friday
​
Times: 3:00 PM EST - 4:00 PM EST
​
Level: Beginner (prior programming knowledge is not required, but it will greatly help).
​
Age: 12+ years
​
Cost: $100
​
Requirements: Every student needs to have a computer that they can use which can download Roblox studio (school computers most likely will not work, as they will probably block you from downloading Roblox studio).

Course Outline
During this course, students will learn key programming concepts, such as:
- Variables
- If Statements
- Loops
- Functions
- Lists (also known as arrays or tables)
- Event Listeners
​
In addition, students will learn the skills necessary to build games on Roblox, including:
- Building 3D Maps with Parts
- Using Different Roblox Objects
- Creating User Interfaces
- Manipulating object properties with code
​
At the end of the course, students will apply what they have learned to make a minigames-based obstacle course.
